Encounter Overview

Pandaemonium is the second encounter of Pandaemonium: Anabaseios.

This fight focuses heavily on arena movement and positioning, forcing players to navigate bridges, towers, spreading mechanics, and platform hazards while avoiding environmental dangers such as poisonous acid and falling from the arena.

Several mechanics interact with web structures that appear throughout the fight. These webs can either trap players or form temporary bridges that allow safe movement across the arena.

Key mechanics include:

• tether-breaking web mechanics
• tower soak patterns
• directional cleaves
• bridge traversal during lethal arena attacks
• sequential AoE patterns
• knockbacks and multihit raid damage

Positioning mistakes often result in players being knocked off the arena or trapped in stacking debuffs.

Arena Overview

The fight takes place on a multi-platform arena connected by web bridges.

Important hazards include:

Green Acid — inflicts stacking poison damage if walked through
Arena edges — players can fall off and instantly die
Web structures — may trap players or act as bridges

Correct positioning and use of the web bridges is essential for survival.

Mechanic Archive

Silkspit

Web AoEs appear that attempt to tether players to each other or to posts around the arena.

If a tether remains when the AoE resolves, players receive Binding Soul Snare, which stacks and eventually kills the player.

Response

• players should spread to prevent tethers forming
• if players become bound, unbound players must run through webs to break them
• later casts increase the number of tethers.

Pandæmonic Pillars

Six towers appear around the arena.

Each tower requires one player to soak it.

After soaking, the towers resolve in one of two ways:

Cage
• point-blank AoE beneath the tower

Spinning Lasers
• donut-shaped AoE

Players hit by these attacks receive Doom, which must be cleansed.

Response

• assign one player per tower
• move depending on whether the AoE is point-blank or donut
• corners that originally lacked towers are always safe.

Ultima

Heavy raidwide damage that applies Bleeding.

Response

• mitigate and heal.

Pandæmonic Meltdown

Line stack marker.

Response

• players stack together along the line to share damage.

Soul Grasp

Multi-hit tankbuster that must be shared by both tanks.

Response

• tanks stack together and mitigate.

Entangling Web

Web AoEs appear on the ground.

Later they connect to posts and form bridges across the arena.

These bridges are required for upcoming mechanics.

Response

• avoid early webs
• later use them to cross platforms safely.

Pandæmonic Ray

The boss faces either east or west and cleaves half the arena.

Players hit receive Hysteria, causing uncontrolled movement that often leads to falling off the arena.

Response

• move to the safe half of the arena
• Rescue can save affected players if necessary.

Parted Plumes

Multiple conal AoEs rotate around the arena center.

Response

• stand on the final marker that appears
• move into the first marker’s location once it resolves.

Players hit receive Paralysis, which can be cleansed.

Touchdown

A massive expanding AoE covers the center platform.

Anyone hit is instantly killed and knocked off the arena.

Response

• move across the arena using the web bridges.

Harrowing Hell

Multi-hit raidwide damage sequence.

After the damage, the boss performs a knockback.

Response

• mitigate the raid damage
• stand close to the boss to avoid being knocked off the arena.

Wicked Step

Two tank towers appear.

Each tower must be soaked by one tank.

Response

• tanks split and soak a tower each.

Emergency strategy

If one tank is unavailable, the other tank can soak both towers by:

• taking the left tower first
• quickly sprinting to the right tower before it resolves.

Encounter Flow

The fight begins with Ultima before introducing the web mechanics through Silkspit, requiring the party to spread and prevent tethers.

Shortly afterward, Pandæmonic Pillars introduces tower soaking combined with positional AoEs, forcing players to correctly identify whether they must move in or out after soaking.

Throughout the encounter, the boss repeatedly pressures the party with directional attacks such as Pandæmonic Ray and rotating patterns like Parted Plumes, forcing constant repositioning.

As the fight progresses, Entangling Web creates bridges that allow players to escape lethal mechanics such as Touchdown, which destroys the central platform.

The encounter culminates in a heavy damage sequence from Harrowing Hell, followed by tank responsibility mechanics like Wicked Step, before the cycle repeats until the boss is defeated.
