This guide covers the fastest path to level all Disciple of Hand classes from 1–100 in Final Fantasy XIV. The primary methods are Cosmic Exploration, Ishgardian Restoration, and Collectables — with macros provided for every stage. You can level all crafter classes in parallel or one at a time; this guide supports both approaches.
Before You Start
EXP Boosts & Preparation
Stack as many of these as possible before beginning:
- Road to 90 (Preferred Worlds) — +100% EXP on all gains to level 90. Essentially halves the grind if available.
- Engineering Manuals — +150% EXP on crafted items. Mandatory for levels 1–21. Obtain via Grand Company Seals. Has no effect on Cosmic Exploration EXP.
- Free Company Helping Hand II — +10% EXP on all successful crafts for 24 hours. Does not affect Cosmic Exploration or Ishgard Restoration hand-ins.
- Friendship Circlet — +20% EXP up to level 26.
- Ala Mhigan Earrings — +30% EXP up to level 51.
- HQ Rroneek Steak — Primary crafting food from mid-levels onward. Stock 50 HQ before starting. Provides strong Control and CP bonuses for macros.
Gil Budget: 3–5 million gil is recommended to cover gear, tools, materia, food, and materials. If you stick to Cosmic Exploration from 50–100, costs are significantly reduced in exchange for slower EXP gain.

Unlock: Cosmic Exploration
Unlock Cosmic Exploration at level 10 by speaking to Namingway in Old Sharlayan (X: 12.6 Y: 13.6). Once unlocked, travel to Sinus Ardorum via Drivingway in Mare Lamentorum (X: 21.9 Y: 13.2). Stellar Missions inside Sinus Ardorum are your primary Cosmic Exploration hand-ins. Upgrade your gear regularly — recipes scale with your level.
Unlock: Ishgardian Restoration
Unlocked at level 20+. Accept the quest Towards the Firmament from the Recruitment Notice near the Ishgard Aetheryte in Foundation (X: 9.7 Y: 11.5). Complete the short quest chain, then speak to Potkin to unlock Expert Recipes in your Crafting Log. All materials can be purchased from the Market Board — gathering is not required.
Level 1–21 — Quick Synthesis & Cosmic Exploration
Unlock your crafting classes at their respective Guilds, then buy cheap materials from the Guild Supplier and use Quick Synthesis to reach level 21. Quick Synthesis unlocks at level 10 in any crafter class. Complete your level 1, 5, and 10 Class Quests for EXP and gear rewards. If you have no Engineering Manuals, head straight to Cosmic Exploration at level 10.

Equip your level 21 gear set. Use Cosmic Exploration Stellar Missions for free EXP, or run approximately 25 Ishgardian Restoration crafts for faster gains. Ishgardian Restoration materials can all be purchased from the Market Board. EXP scales down as you level — craft all hand-ins at the lowest level possible to maximize rewards.
