The Best Gaming Chairs
for Long Sessions

Honest picks for FFXIV players who spend more time at their desk than their lore says they should.

Eorzean Tavern → Chairs

These are chairs I've actually sat in, or that come from trusted recommendations within the community. No extra picks, no padding to hit a "top 10." If a chair isn't here, I either haven't used it long enough to vouch for it or it didn't hold up. Good chairs matter. Raid nights are long. Relic grinds are longer. Let's not even talk about that mount that still hasn't dropped...

A note on prices: Chair prices fluctuate a lot — especially Secretlab, which runs sales several times a year. What you see here is a ballpark. Always check current pricing on Amazon before buying.

Top pick
Secretlab ★★★★★
Titan Evo Black
Memory foam lumbar Magnetic headrest 4D armrests Up to 290 lbs

The chair most of us at the Tavern ended up in after trying a few others. Hands down one of the elite gaming chairs. It makes it so you don't feel those long grinds in your back or neck. Fabric and leatherette versions available — I prefer the fabric (SoftWeave) for breathability.

Skip it if: you're under 5'4" or want a proper mesh back for hot climates.

Ergonomic
Herman Miller ★★★★★
Aeron Ergonomic
8Z Pellicle mesh PostureFit SL 3 sizes 12-year warranty

If you have back problems or sit for 6–10 hours a day, this is the chair the physical therapists and ergonomics researchers keep pointing to. This is one I have experience with at my day job. Running code all day. Genuinely good chair. The mesh back means you're never sitting in heat, and the PostureFit SL actually supports your sacrum and lumbar independently. It costs a lot. It also might be the last chair you ever buy.

Skip it if: the price is genuinely uncomfortable. Don't go into debt for furniture.

Ergonomic
Autonomous ★★★★☆
ErgoChair Pro
Mesh back Adjustable lumbar Recline lock Up to 300 lbs

A solid middle ground between budget racing chairs and Herman Miller pricing. Another from my day job. Full mesh, adjustable lumbar, armrests that actually move where you want them. Build quality is good but not exceptional — I've heard the occasional squeaking complaint after a year or two. Still, for the price, it's hard to argue with the ergonomic feature set.

Good for: people who want proper ergonomics without the Aeron price tag.

Budget pick
Respawn ★★★★☆
110 Racing Style Gaming Chair
PU leather Reclining back Footrest Up to 275 lbs

Not a chair I'd want forever, but as a starter option while you're saving for something better — it does the job. The footrest is actually a nice touch for movie nights or AFK crafting marathons. PU leather will eventually peel, so manage expectations. Assembly is straightforward.

This is a starter chair. Plan to upgrade when you can.

Staff pick
Razer ★★★★★
Enki Gaming Chair
Cold foam padding Adjustable lumbar 4D armrests Up to 330 lbs

If you want a solid chair for those long hours without breaking the bank. The Razer Enki is at a milder price point. The optimized seat foam density means it won't wear out any time soon. It comes reclinable and a perfect lumbar arch in my opinion.

Premium
Steelcase ★★★★★
Leap V2
LiveBack technology Natural glide system Lower back firmness Up to 400 lbs

The Aeron's main competition at the top of the ergonomic market. Where the Aeron excels at passive support and breathability, the Leap adjusts dynamically as you shift positions — it follows your spine rather than holding it in one place. Excellent for people who move around a lot while sitting.

Consider buying refurbished — Steelcase's build quality means used units often have years of life left at half the price.
