Encounter Overview

Deltascape V1.0 introduces Alte Roite, the opening encounter of the Omega raid series. This fight establishes the baseline mechanics for Stormblood raids, combining simple telegraphs with layered movement requirements such as knockbacks, spreads, and environmental hazards.

While individually straightforward, many mechanics overlap in ways that punish poor positioning. The encounter emphasizes awareness, controlled movement, and quick recognition of common raid markers like stack, spread, and knockback effects.

For a full breakdown of raid difficulty across all tiers, see the FFXIV Raid Rankings.

Arena Overview

The fight takes place on a circular platform with no edge protection. Several mechanics introduce knockback and forced movement, making positioning relative to the boss critical.

The arena can become hazardous during certain mechanics such as Thin Ice and Downburst, limiting safe movement options and increasing the importance of pre-positioning.

Mechanic Archive

Alte Roite

Wyrm Tail

A tankbuster that deals moderate damage. Tanks should mitigate and remain stable for follow-up mechanics.

Roar

Raid-wide AoE that applies steady pressure on healers throughout the encounter.

Flame → Fire Orbs

Spawns multiple orbs that explode in circular AoEs, applying Vulnerability Up if hit. Orbs can be repositioned slightly by knockback effects.

Breathwing

A knockback from the boss. Players should move toward the boss before the cast and re-center immediately after to avoid drifting into danger.

Clamp

A line AoE with knockback. Players should sidestep the line and prepare for displacement.

Thin Ice

The arena becomes slippery, causing players to slide when moving. Movement must be deliberate and minimal to avoid mispositioning.

Levinbolt

Spread markers appear on players, requiring the group to separate to avoid overlapping damage.

Blaze

A stack marker that requires the group to collapse and share damage.

Twin Bolt

A tank-targeted attack that also damages the nearest player. Off-tank or assigned player should be closest to share the hit safely.

Downburst

A central tornado that knocks players back and kills anyone inside it when the cast resolves. Players must avoid the center and control their positioning carefully.

Charybdis

Reduces all players to critical HP, immediately followed by raid-wide damage. Healers must prepare to stabilize the group quickly.

The Classical Elements

A phase transition that combines multiple mechanics such as Fire Orbs, Thin Ice, Levinbolt, Blaze, and Downburst. Players must resolve overlapping mechanics in sequence without overcorrecting movement.

Encounter Flow

The encounter begins with basic raid-wide damage and tankbusters, introducing players to Alte Roite’s core mechanics.

As the fight progresses, movement-based mechanics such as Breathwing, Clamp, and Thin Ice begin to overlap with standard stack and spread mechanics, increasing positional pressure.

Mid-fight, The Classical Elements combines previously introduced mechanics into layered sequences, testing the player’s ability to maintain awareness while resolving multiple effects.

The encounter concludes with Charybdis and continued raid-wide pressure, requiring quick recovery and clean execution to stabilize and finish the fight.
