Encounter Overview

O11N – Omega is a multi-phase encounter that combines spread pressure, directional attacks, and unique duty actions into a fast-paced mechanical sequence.

The fight introduces the Omega Jammer duty action and tests players on positioning discipline, mechanic recognition, and coordinated execution during overlapping patterns.

For a full breakdown of raid difficulty across all tiers, see the FFXIV Raid Rankings.

Arena Overview

The arena is a square platform with no initial hazards, though later phases introduce persistent danger zones that heavily restrict movement.

Positioning becomes increasingly important as mechanics begin overlapping and space becomes limited.

Boss Mechanics

Raidwide and Tank Pressure

Atomic Ray: Unavoidable raidwide damage. Heal through.

Mustard Bomb: Tankbuster. Keep non-tanks clear of the target to avoid splash damage.

Spread + Pattern Overlap

Ballistic Impact: All players receive AoE markers. Spread out to avoid overlap and avoid standing in resulting fire puddles.

Flame Thrower: Rotating cone pattern. Stand between cones for safe spots.

Strategy: Spread first, then adjust into safe cone gaps—movement must be controlled to avoid clipping others.

Directional Mechanics

Larboard / Starboard Wave Cannon: Left or right cleave relative to Omega’s facing.

Strategy: Watch boss orientation, not your own. Expect a second follow-up cleave after rotation.

Omega Jammer Mechanic

Peripheral Synthesis: Rocket Punch adds sweep across the arena.

Strategy: Use Omega Jammer to weaken them. Do not attempt to burn normally.

Add Phase – Level Checker

Looper Debuff: Must be removed or players lose control.

Executable Mechanics:

  • Stand in assigned circles to cleanse debuff
  • Stack properly during shared mechanics

Force Quit: DPS check—kill before cast finishes.

Strategy: Each player must resolve their assigned circle. Missed mechanics snowball quickly into failure.

Delta Attack Phase

Conductive Focus: Use Omega Jammer to charge shield.

Delta Attack: Massive raidwide damage.

Strategy: All players must contribute to charge. Failure results in wipe.

Final Phase Additions

Electric Slide: Stack marker. Group up to share damage.

Improved Mustard Bomb: Tethered explosion. Off-tank should take tether away from group.

Improved Peripheral Synthesis: Large fists charge across arena.

Strategy: Maintain awareness of both slow walls and fast charge attacks simultaneously.

Combo Pressure

Omega begins combining mechanics:

  • Wave Cannons + Raidwide
  • Rocket Punch walls + charge attacks
  • Spread + stack overlaps

Strategy: Resolve primary mechanic first, then adjust positioning for secondary effects.

Encounter Flow

The fight begins with spread and directional mechanics, introducing movement discipline early.

The add phase shifts focus to execution and responsibility, requiring proper handling of debuffs and positioning.

After Delta Attack, the encounter escalates into layered combinations of earlier mechanics, testing consistency and awareness.

Clean positioning and controlled movement are key to avoiding unnecessary damage and maintaining uptime.
