Encounter Overview

A9S – Refurbisher 0 is the Savage version of the opening encounter in Alexander: The Creator. While it retains the same core structure as normal mode, Savage significantly increases the pressure by layering additional mechanics each phase and tightening the execution window on add management, positioning, and environmental control.

The fight revolves around managing Scrap Bots and preventing the boss from rebuilding itself. Each phase builds on the last, forcing the raid to handle repeated mechanics under increasing complexity. Clean execution of generators, add positioning, and lava timing is essential, as mistakes directly empower the boss or lead to immediate wipe conditions.

Arena Overview

The arena is divided into four quadrants that will sequentially flood with lava, indicated by glowing sections along the walls. Standing in lava deals heavy damage and applies a strong fire damage-over-time effect. These lava zones are not just hazards—they are required to destroy Scrap Bots and prevent the boss from rebuilding.

Throughout the fight, Scrap Bots and Energy Generators will spawn. Players must use generators to activate the bots, then drag them into the glowing lava quadrants and kill them before they can be absorbed. Proper generator placement and add control is the core mechanic of the encounter.

Boss Mechanics

Core Mechanics (All Phases)

Energy Generators & Scrap Bots: Scrap Bots spawn alongside generators. Assigned players must place generators near the bots to activate them. Once active, the off-tank should pick them up and drag them into the glowing quadrant. The raid must kill them before lava resolves to destroy them completely.

Stockpile: The boss absorbs any remaining Scrap Bots, removing stacks of its debuffs and gaining permanent Damage Up. If enough parts are rebuilt, the boss gains new abilities. If the main hull is fully rebuilt, it will cast Scrap Storm and wipe the raid.

Lava Quadrants: Indicated by glowing walls, quadrants will fill with lava. Players must avoid standing in lava while also using it to destroy Scrap Bots.

Scrap (Tank Cleave): A frontal column attack on the main tank. Face the boss away from the party at all times.

Scrap Burst: Meteor markers appear on players, dropping rocks. These rocks should be placed close to the boss. Players must hide behind them to avoid a follow-up raid-wide attack.

Scrapline: A large frontal AoE with no cast bar. All players must move behind the boss immediately to avoid it.

Phase 1

At the start, the boss absorbs initial bots using Stockpile, regrowing part of its body. This is unavoidable and serves as the phase opener.

Two sets of Scrap Bots and generators spawn as a quadrant begins to glow. Assigned players activate the bots, and the off-tank drags them into the glowing area for destruction.

Players resolve Scrap Burst by dropping rocks near the boss, then hiding behind them. The boss follows with Stockpile and Scrapline.

Phase 2

All previous mechanics repeat, with additional pressure from new abilities.

Acid Rain: Four players are targeted with AoE markers that deal splash damage. Spread out to avoid overlapping damage.

Scrap Bomb: A stack marker requiring the party to group together and mitigate damage.

Generator handling and add burning continues as before, with tighter timing due to overlapping mechanics.

Phase 3

Full Metal Faust: A large add spawns with a proximity marker. Move away from the spawn point to reduce damage.

Faust tethers to the boss, making it nearly invulnerable. The off-tank must pick up Faust and keep it away from lava zones while the party burns it down.

Critical Condition: If Full Metal Faust touches lava, it casts Scorched Earth and wipes the raid. The off-tank must carefully path around the arena while avoiding active lava quadrants.

Once Faust is defeated, it should be killed on a glowing quadrant so it can be destroyed. The boss then becomes fully targetable again and resumes normal mechanics.

Phase 4

Alarum: A new add spawns and must be handled differently from Scrap Bots. Instead of being burned in lava, it should be pulled to a divider between quadrants and killed there.

When defeated, Alarum drops a puddle that inflicts Minimum on players who step into it. This puddle must remain accessible for the upcoming mechanic.

Only one generator spawns in this phase, limiting how many Scrap Bots can be destroyed.

Double Scrapline: A full 360-degree AoE that will wipe the party unless players shrink themselves using the Minimum puddle. All players must step into the puddle before this attack resolves.

Phase 5

All previous mechanics repeat with additional environmental hazards.

Scrap Bomb Mines: Bombs appear in quadrants and will explode if triggered. Players must avoid detonating them prematurely.

The Alarum must be kept away from these bombs so it can be safely killed and its puddle preserved.

Continue managing Scrap Bots, placing rocks for Scrap Burst, and handling Acid Rain while positioning carefully around bombs and lava zones.

Phase 6

The final phase combines all previous mechanics at maximum intensity.

All mechanics repeat: generator handling, Scrap Bots, Acid Rain, Scrap Bomb, Scrap Burst, Scrapline, and environmental hazards.

Final DPS Check: The boss will eventually overwhelm the arena with too many Scrap Bots to manage. If allowed to rebuild its main hull, it will cast Scrap Storm and wipe the raid.

The raid must defeat the boss before this happens.

Encounter Flow

Phase 1: Establish generator roles, activate and destroy Scrap Bots in lava, and handle Scrap Burst and Scrapline cleanly.

Phase 2: Continue add management while resolving Acid Rain spreads and Scrap Bomb stacks.

Phase 3: Shift focus to Full Metal Faust, kiting it away from lava while burning it down before returning to boss damage.

Phase 4: Introduce Alarum and Minimum puddle mechanics, ensuring proper positioning for Double Scrapline survival.

Phase 5: Repeat mechanics with added bombs, increasing positional pressure and requiring cleaner execution.

Phase 6: Final burn phase with all mechanics active. Defeat the boss before it rebuilds and casts Scrap Storm.
