Dungeons Trials Raids Relic Weapons

Alexander is the primary 8-player raid series introduced during the Heavensward expansion of Final Fantasy XIV.

The storyline follows the Warrior of Light and allies as they investigate the Illuminati and the giant primal fortress known as Alexander. Across its three tiers, the raid explores Alexander’s interior systems, temporal distortions, and increasingly dangerous mechanical constructs while steadily escalating encounter complexity.

The Alexander raid series is divided into three raid tiers, each containing four encounters that build on earlier mechanics while increasing coordination checks, positional discipline, and execution pressure.

Alexander represents the first fully standardized 8-player raid progression structure used in Final Fantasy XIV, establishing the Normal and Savage tier model that later raid series would follow.

Raid Tier Progression

The Alexander raids progress through three sequential raid tiers.

Each raid tier expands on the mechanics introduced in previous encounters while increasing the demands on movement precision, role responsibility, and multi-phase execution.

Raid Difficulty Profile

Alexander encounters emphasize execution consistency, positional awareness, and coordinated group responsibility, especially in early tiers where DPS checks and mechanical punishment are more severe. Later tiers refine encounter pacing while preserving the series’ emphasis on disciplined execution.
