Encounter Overview
Ramuh is the opening encounter of the Eden’s Verse raid tier and introduces players to several mechanics centered around positioning, knockback control, and lightning resistance management through Surge Protection. The fight tests the party’s ability to read lane-based mechanics and react quickly to overlapping AoEs while maintaining safe positioning on a platform surrounded by lethal edges.
Players can fall from the arena throughout the encounter, although those who fall may be resurrected after a short delay. Proper positioning during knockbacks and charge mechanics is essential to avoid accidental deaths.
Arena Overview
The arena is a circular platform with clearly visible lane patterns on the floor. These markings are particularly important during Tribunal Summons mechanics, which send enemies charging through the arena in straight lines.
Many of Ramuh’s attacks spawn Surge Protection Orbs. These orbs grant lightning resistance that allows players to survive empowered attacks later in the fight. Players can stack up to three charges, but collecting more than three causes a healing received debuff, so orb pickups should be deliberate rather than accidental.
Mechanic Archive
Crippling Blow
A heavy tankbuster targeting the primary tank.
Strategy:
• main tank should mitigate the attack
• the rest of the party should avoid standing too close to the tank during the hit.
Stratospear Summons
Ramuh marks areas on the east and west sides of the arena where lightning rods will fall. One rod will be noticeably shorter than the others.
Strategy:
• move to the side with the shorter rod
• the larger rods will attract lightning and unleash a large AoE shortly afterward
• after the explosion, Surge Protection Orbs will spawn nearby.
Surge Protection Orbs
Lightning orbs appear after several mechanics. Picking one up grants a stack of Surge Protection.
Strategy:
• each player should collect at least one orb before empowered mechanics
• avoid picking up too many unnecessarily
• exceeding three stacks causes a healing penalty.
Stormcloud Summons
Two players receive purple markers and will drop stormclouds that repeatedly strike the ground beneath them with lightning.
Strategy:
• marked players should move to the edges of the arena before dropping the clouds
• ensure clouds are placed far apart so they do not merge
• merged clouds cause heavy raid damage and a damage-down debuff.
Judgement Volts
Unavoidable raidwide lightning damage.
Strategy:
• healers prepare raid healing
• mitigation can help reduce incoming damage.
Fury’s Bolt
Ramuh buffs himself with three orbiting lightning spheres, empowering his next mechanic.
Strategy:
• watch carefully for this visual indicator
• the following ability will deal significantly increased damage.
Divine Judgement Volts
An empowered version of Judgement Volts that will kill players who do not have Surge Protection.
Strategy:
• ensure every player has at least one Surge Protection stack
• grab an orb quickly if you notice Ramuh casting Fury’s Bolt.
Tribunal Summons (Ramuh Charge)
The Will of Ramuh appears outside the southern center of the arena and charges across the battlefield, knocking players away from the charge line.
Strategy:
• stand directly beside the charge line rather than far away from it
• this reduces the knockback distance and prevents players from being knocked off the arena
• knockback immunity abilities can negate the mechanic entirely.
Tribunal Summons (Ixion Charges)
Three Will of Ixion adds appear on one side of the arena and charge through specific lanes.
Strategy:
• observe the lane patterns on the floor
• move into an unoccupied lane to avoid being struck by the charges.
Thunderstorm
The arena becomes filled with random lightning AoEs while players are also targeted by large circles.
Strategy:
• keep moving while maintaining awareness of safe lanes
• spread out to avoid overlapping player-targeted AoEs.
Encounter Flow
The encounter begins with Stratospear Summons, introducing the lightning rod mechanic and the first appearance of Surge Protection Orbs. Shortly afterward, Ramuh uses Stormcloud Summons and Judgement Volts, establishing the core positioning and raidwide damage pattern.
As the fight progresses, Ramuh empowers his attacks through Fury’s Bolt, requiring players to maintain Surge Protection stacks before the devastating Divine Judgement Volts.
The encounter then introduces the lane-based mechanics of Tribunal Summons, where players must position themselves carefully to avoid both Ramuh’s central charge and Ixion’s lane dashes.
Later mechanics begin to overlap, forcing players to resolve stormcloud placements while simultaneously handling knockbacks, lightning AoEs, and lane positioning.
After the final sequence of overlapping mechanics, Ramuh enters a repeating loop of earlier abilities until he is defeated.
