Encounter Overview

Leviathan returns in Savage difficulty as one of the most mechanically demanding fights of the Eden’s Gate raid tier.

The encounter expands significantly on the mechanics introduced in the normal version, adding tighter positioning requirements, overlapping mechanics, and enhanced versions of earlier attacks.

Savage Leviathan emphasizes coordinated movement, controlled knockbacks, and precise platform positioning as multiple mechanics resolve simultaneously.

Arena Overview

The arena is a rectangular floating platform surrounded by open water.

Players knocked off the platform will die instantly, making knockback control and edge awareness critical throughout the encounter.

Leviathan repeatedly destroys sections of the platform, temporarily reducing available space and increasing the difficulty of movement mechanics.

Mechanic Archive

Tidal Roar

Raidwide magical damage.

Response

• healers prepare raid healing
• mitigation helps stabilize the party before the next mechanic.

Rip Current

A double line tankbuster aimed at the main tank.

Both blasts travel across the arena.

Response

• tanks swap or use invulnerability
• aim the attack away from the group
• players must avoid standing in the line.

Tidal Wave

Knockback from the arena edge.

In Savage difficulty this overlaps with Undersea Quake.

Response

• move near the knockback source
• use knockback immunity if available
• adjust positioning so the push does not send you into destroyed platform sections.

Undersea Quake

Destroys large sections of the platform.

Response

• move to safe sections quickly
• avoid drifting toward edges after knockbacks.

Temporary Current

Massive diagonal arena blast.

Savage versions fire two consecutive blasts.

Response

• identify the safe side quickly
• move early rather than reacting late
• prepare to cross the arena after the first blast.

Drenching Pulse

AoE circles appear under every player.

Response

• stack centrally to bait circles
• then spread to drop them safely
• prepare immediately for follow-up spreads.

Freak Wave

Spread markers appear on all players.

Response

• pre-assign spread positions
• avoid clipping teammates while platform space is limited.

Tsunami

Raidwide damage followed by multiple debuffs including knockbacks, donut AoEs, and stack mechanics.

Response

• group tightly when required for knockback cleanses
• tanks and healers may split to handle stack mechanics
• watch platform edges carefully.

Maelstrom

Leviathan disappears while water puddles expand and divebomb portals appear.

Savage difficulty introduces triple divebombs.

Response

• move between expanding puddles
• track portal order to anticipate divebomb paths
• keep movement controlled to avoid getting trapped.

Refreshing Shower

Leviathan gains a buff that enhances several upcoming mechanics.

Response

• prepare for harder versions of familiar attacks
• coordinate mitigation and movement carefully.

Stormy Horizon

Repeated AoE circles spawn beneath players while other mechanics resolve.

Response

• bait circles centrally
• leave space for safe movement afterward.

Breaking Wave

A proximity marker placed on a tank.

Response

• the marked tank moves away from the group
• other players avoid standing nearby.

Plunging Wave

Stack-line attack fired multiple times.

Response

• stack with the group to absorb the hits
• ensure no players are left alone in the line.

Encounter Flow

The fight begins with raidwide damage and tank pressure through Rip Current, quickly transitioning into movement mechanics involving Temporary Current and Drenching Pulse.

Leviathan soon introduces platform destruction through Undersea Quake, forcing the raid to manage space while resolving knockbacks and spreads.

Mid-fight mechanics escalate through Tsunami, which introduces multiple overlapping debuffs requiring coordinated positioning and knockback control.

Later phases feature Maelstrom divebomb sequences, enhanced mechanics through Refreshing Shower, and increasingly intense movement checks.

The final phase pushes the raid through repeated enhanced mechanics until Leviathan enters a soft enrage through repeated raidwide attacks.
