Overall Difficulty Rating

★★★★★
4.5 / 5 (Duty Finder Standard)

Beneath the Bounty’s waves lies the hidden vault of a Satrap. Alzadaal’s Legacy is a high-adventure crawl through gold-plated corridors and bioluminescent caverns. As the opening salvo of Endwalker’s (EW) post-launch cycle, it offers a “Structured Stabilization”—the mechanics are dense and layered, but the raw, lethal panic of The Dead Ends has been replaced with a more rhythmic, predictable flow.

Evaluated under standard Duty Finder conditions with level sync active.
Assumes average party coordination and no voice communication.

Expansion Context

Alzadaal’s Legacy, introduced in Patch 6.1, marks the beginning of the Post-Launch Refinement. By this stage, the “Level 90 Toolkit” is no longer a novelty; the dungeon design assumes the party is comfortable with sustained movement and multi-target priority. While it maintains a “High Risk” classification, the Telegraph Fidelity is exceptional.

This dungeon introduces “Spinning Arena” and “Corridor-Check” mechanics that require players to look at the environment’s trajectory rather than just ground markers.

Tank Risk Assessment

You are breach-loading your way through the animated defenses of an ancient treasury.

  • The “Vault” Trash Friction: The trash pulls in the first wing, specifically the Alzadaal’s Rampart and Armored units, utilize heavy physical busters and wide-angle cleaves. You must pull these into the corners of the corridors to prevent the mobs from scattering. Chaining Holy Sheltron/Bloodwhetting is your baseline; however, the second-wing pulls (the sea creatures) introduce high-frequency AOE spam that requires you to cycle Arm’s Length or Reprisal to prevent healer overload.

  • Kapi-kulu (Boss 2) Positioning: You must maintain a steady boss orientation during Spinning Wheel. If you rotate the boss unnecessarily, you make it impossible for the melee DPS to predict the safe quadrants between the spinning needles.

  • Predictable Busters: Alzadaal’s (Final Boss) Corrosive Fountain is a sharp magical spike. Because the fight involves constant knockbacks and “Water” traps, ensure you have your short-cycle mitigation ready before the movement starts.

Tank Risk Rating: 4.4 / 5

Cooldown discipline stabilizes encounters.

Healer Strain Analysis

Expect a job defined by Movement Throughput and Displacement Prep.

  • The “Tentacle” Check (Boss 1): Ambujam utilizes Big Wave and Tentacle Display. This is a definitive throughput test. You must keep the party topped off while they are dodging the underground tentacle strikes. If a player is clipped and hit by the following room-wide pulse, you must react with an instant-cast oGCD (Essential Dignity, Lustrate) or lose them.

  • Throughput Marathon (Final Boss): Alzadaal pulses room-wide damage (Magus Ray) while the arena’s outer ring becomes lethal. You must maintain high HPS while the party is being funneled into the center. Your use of Earthly Star or Panhaema is critical to catch the group during the knockback phases.

  • Widening Recovery Margins: Unlike the 6.0 capstone, a single vulnerability stack here is manageable. You have the resource windows to stabilize isolated errors, provided the tank’s mitigation is steady.

Healer Strain Rating: 4.5 / 5

Prevention remains more efficient than recovery.

DPS Responsibility Index

Your performance is measured by Add Interception and Physics Literacy.

  • The “Needle” Protocol (Boss 2): You must navigate the spinning needles. This requires tracking the rotation of the traps on the floor. Tunnel-visioning your rotation during the Crewel Slice sequence is the #1 cause of death in this encounter.

  • Target Priority: During the treasure-room gauntlet, focus the Alzadaal’s Mimic and large constructs first. If they are allowed to cast their long-duration stuns, the tank will likely fold under the sustained pressure of the smaller adds.

  • Zero Greed (Final Boss): During the “Water Pillar” phase, you must find the gap in the rotating walls. Greeding a final combo hit and getting caught in the “Toxic” outer ring is a common but avoidable casualty.

DPS Responsibility Rating: 4.5 / 5

Execution consistency remains important.

Wipe Punishment Profile

Alzadaal’s Legacy punishes repeated mechanical failures steadily.

Common wipe scenarios:

  • Add mismanagement escalating healer strain

  • Burst window tank destabilization

  • Stacked avoidable damage overwhelming recovery

Recovery is possible if pressure is corrected quickly.

Wipe Punishment Rating: 4.5 / 5

Mistakes escalate gradually rather than abruptly.

Boss Risk Snapshot

Alzadaal’s Legacy emphasizes structured movement and add discipline.

Boss 1 – Ambujam

  • Primary Wipe Trigger: Improper positioning during layered arena mechanics.

  • Role Under Highest Strain: Healer.

  • Common Duty Finder Failure: Players stack avoidable damage during movement checks.

Boss 2 – Kapikulu

  • Primary Wipe Trigger: Add mismanagement during sustained pressure phases.

  • Role Under Highest Strain: DPS.

  • Common Duty Finder Failure: Slow swaps escalating damage beyond recovery.

Boss 3 – Alzadaal

  • Primary Wipe Trigger: Burst window collapse during layered mechanics.

  • Role Under Highest Strain: Tank and Healer.

  • Common Duty Finder Failure: Mistimed mitigation combined with compounded avoidable damage.

The “Big Three” Wipe Scenarios

  • Tentacle Overlap (Boss 1): Multiple party members failing to read the surface ripples of the tentacles. The resulting damage and vulnerability stacks turn the boss’s subsequent room-wide pulse into a party wipe.

  • Needle Saturation (Boss 2): Failing to identify the safe quadrants during the spinning needle phase. Getting clipped twice results in a death that is difficult to recover from during the boss’s high-speed dashes.

  • Corrosive Knockback (Final Boss): The party failing to position against the “Water Pillars,” resulting in players being punted into the instant-death wall.

Overpull Tolerance

Low to Moderate.

The vault guardians are sturdy but predictable. Controlled 2-pack pulls are the standard.

Gear Sensitivity

 Low to Moderate.

Higher iLevel gear significantly smooths the “Mimic” gauntlet, but does not bypass the movement checks on the final boss.

How to Unlock

Unlocked through MSQ: “A New Adventure” (Patch 6.1)

Location:  Thavnair (X:14, Y:22)

Level Requirement: 90

Prerequisite: Completion of Endwalker 6.0 MSQ

Expansion: Endwalker (Patch 6.1)

Final Guild Verdict

Alzadaal’s Legacy is a Positional Rhythm Test. It rewards groups that can move in sync with environmental traps—be it tentacles, needles, or toxic water. It marks a shift into a more “Adventure-Focused” design where the environment is active but the punishment is rhythmic.

Watch the floor rotation, respect the tentacles, and claim the Satrap’s treasure.

Guild Classification: High Risk (Endwalker Early Post-Launch Tier)
