Encounter Overview
Eden’s Verse: Refulgence is the final encounter of the Eden’s Verse raid tier and pits the party against Shiva in her reformed incarnation through Ryne. The fight blends traditional Shiva mechanics with new light-aspected abilities, creating an encounter focused on positional awareness, arena control, and coordinated movement.
Much of the encounter revolves around reading Shiva’s current form and responding to large arena-wide attacks. Several mechanics involve mirrors that repeat abilities, sliding movement across frozen terrain, and positioning around towers or proximity blasts. Players who remain calm and react to visual cues tend to handle the encounter reliably.
The arena has no protective railing, so knockbacks and uncontrolled sliding can send players off the platform. While fallen players can be revived after a delay, edge deaths frequently destabilize mechanics and should be avoided whenever possible.
Arena Overview
The battle takes place on a circular frozen platform surrounded by a lethal drop. The arena itself remains open throughout the encounter, but movement mechanics such as Thin Ice can make positioning unpredictable.
Several mechanics require players to move either toward or away from Shiva depending on the attack pattern she uses. Later mechanics also involve mirror clones placed around the arena edge that repeat Shiva’s attacks, effectively shrinking safe zones and requiring players to read the arena quickly.
During the mid-encounter transition, the raid is split into smaller platforms where each group must defend a crystal from incoming enemies. After successfully completing this sequence, the party returns to the main arena to continue the fight.
Mechanic Archive
Absolute Zero
A raid-wide magical attack that deals unavoidable damage to the entire party. This attack appears repeatedly throughout the encounter and functions as the primary healing check.
Redress
Shiva changes between Ice and Holy forms. The form change itself carries an additional mechanic depending on which form she begins in.
If she begins in Ice form, Redress becomes a gaze attack that stuns players who are facing Shiva. Turning away during the transformation prevents the effect.
If she begins in Holy form, the arena becomes coated in ice and all players receive the Thin Ice debuff, causing them to slide a considerable distance when they move.
Axe Kick
A massive point-blank AoE around Shiva that covers most of the arena. Players must move toward the outer edge of the platform to avoid the attack.
Scythe Kick
A donut-shaped AoE that leaves Shiva’s hitbox as the only safe location. Players must move toward her to avoid the damage.
Biting Frost
A wide frontal cone attack that covers Shiva’s front and sides. Players should move behind her to avoid the attack. When Thin Ice is active, sliding behind her rather than running normally may be required.
Driving Frost
A conal attack that strikes directly behind Shiva. Players must move to her front or sides to avoid being hit.
Double Slap
A heavy tankbuster that targets the main tank. Tanks should mitigate this attack while healers prepare for the incoming damage.
Diamond Frost
A high raid-wide attack that requires significant healing. This ability often precedes mechanics that force the raid to spread or reposition.
Frigid Stone & Frigid Water
Multiple ice AoEs appear around the arena, either on the cardinals or intercardinals. These attacks leave a cross-shaped safe zone in the center.
At the same time, half of the raid receives proximity markers while the other half receives AoE circles. Players with proximity markers should move to the arena edge, while players with AoE circles spread safely in the central safe area.
Frigid Eruption
Several players are targeted by moving AoE circles that detonate multiple times in succession. Marked players should move away from the raid and continue moving until the sequence ends.
Heavenly Strike
A strong knockback from Shiva’s position. Players too far from the boss risk being knocked off the arena edge.
Standing closer to Shiva reduces the danger, and knockback immunity abilities can be used to negate the effect.
Mirror, Mirror
Two mirrors appear around the arena edge and replicate Shiva’s next attack after a short delay.
If Shiva uses Biting Frost, players move behind her while avoiding the mirror point-blank attacks. If she uses Driving Frost, players move in front of Shiva before repositioning between the mirrors to avoid the follow-up cones.
Reflection Platform Phase
The arena shatters into multiple smaller platforms, splitting the raid into two groups of four. Each group must defend a central crystal while preventing enemies from reaching it.
Enemies moving toward the crystal must be defeated before they arrive. Other enemies may tether to the crystal and should have the tether intercepted by players to prevent the crystal from taking damage.
A Flood of Light gauge gradually fills during this phase if mechanics are mishandled. If the gauge fills completely, the raid is wiped.
Successfully defending the crystal returns the raid to the main arena and grants a temporary damage buff.
Holy
A proximity explosion mechanic. Sometimes a single proximity marker appears in the center, requiring the raid to move outward. Other times multiple proximity markers appear near the arena edge, forcing players to move toward the center.
The number of floating orbs above Shiva indicates which pattern is coming.
Light Rampant
A heavy raid-wide attack that deals significant damage. Healing and mitigation are recommended before the next sequence begins.
Path of Light
Stack towers appear in a sequence that requires increasing numbers of players to soak them.
The first set requires one player in each tower, the second requires two players per tower, and the final tower requires four players. At the same time, two players are marked with conal attacks that must be aimed away from the towers.
Marked players should position between towers so that their cones do not strike the groups soaking the towers.
Mirror, Mirror (Holy Form)
Four mirrors appear and repeat Shiva’s Holy-form attacks.
If Shiva uses Axe Kick, players must first move away from her and then quickly reposition to the arena center to avoid the mirrors’ attacks.
If Shiva uses Scythe Kick, players should move into Shiva’s hitbox before standing in front of a mirror to avoid the donut attacks.
Twin Stillness / Twin Silence
These abilities combine Biting Frost and Driving Frost in quick succession while Thin Ice is active.
Twin Stillness performs Biting Frost first followed by Driving Frost. Twin Silence performs the opposite order. Players must slide to the correct side of Shiva to avoid both attacks.
Absolute Zero (Enrage Phase)
As Shiva approaches defeat, she repeatedly casts Absolute Zero until the raid reduces her health to zero.
Endless Ice Age
The final cinematic phase begins with Shiva freezing the arena while preparing a catastrophic attack. The raid must destroy the ice encasing Ryne before the cast completes.
This acts as the final damage check of the encounter.
Encounter Flow
The fight begins with Shiva alternating between Ice and Holy forms while introducing several large telegraphed attacks. Players first learn to identify safe positions around the boss while dealing with sliding movement caused by Thin Ice.
After several arena-wide mechanics and mirror attacks, the arena shatters into reflection platforms where the raid splits into two groups to defend crystals from incoming enemies. Successfully completing this phase returns the party to the main arena with a temporary damage buff.
The final section of the encounter introduces Holy proximity mechanics, tower soaking through Path of Light, and more complex mirror attacks. Thin Ice and sequential cone attacks require careful positioning to avoid sliding into danger.
As Shiva nears defeat, she repeatedly casts Absolute Zero before transitioning into a final cinematic damage check. Destroying the ice prison before Endless Ice Age completes ends the encounter and concludes the Eden’s Verse raid tier.
