Encounter Overview

Leviathan serves as the third encounter of the Eden’s Gate raid tier. The fight introduces heavy knockback mechanics, arena destruction, and layered debuff resolution that require careful positioning across the platform.

The arena has open edges, and players knocked off the platform will fall to their death. However, fallen players may be resurrected after a short delay.

The encounter emphasizes spatial awareness and quick repositioning as Leviathan repeatedly pressures the raid with diagonal blasts, knockbacks, and platform destruction mechanics.

Arena Overview

The encounter takes place on a large floating platform surrounded by open water.

Falling from the platform results in death. Several mechanics either knock players across the arena or destroy sections of the platform, reducing available space temporarily.

Positioning near safe areas and managing knockback direction are critical throughout the fight.

Mechanic Archive

Tidal Roar

Raidwide magical damage affecting the entire party.

Response

• healers prepare raid healing
• light mitigation helps reduce pressure
• expect follow-up mechanics quickly after the damage.

Rip Current

Leviathan tethers to the main tank before firing a massive line attack across the arena.

Anyone caught in the line takes heavy damage.

Response

• main tank aims the attack away from the party
• tanks can mitigate or swap afterward
• the raid should stay clear of the line path.

Temporary Current

Leviathan tilts its body and prepares a massive diagonal blast across the arena.

Response

• identify the direction of the tilt
• move to the opposite safe side
• avoid drifting too close to the arena edge.

Drenching Pulse

AoE circles appear beneath all players.

Response

• immediately move away from the marked spot
• spread slightly to avoid clipping teammates
• prepare for follow-up spread mechanics.

Tidal Wave

A water spout forms at the edge of the arena and knocks players away.

Response

• move close to the spout to minimize knockback
• alternatively use knockback immunity
• angle yourself so the push keeps you safely on the platform.

Undersea Quake

Leviathan destroys portions of the platform.

Players standing on the destroyed sections are instantly killed.

Response

• move to the safe central section of the arena
• stay grouped to simplify healing during the transition.

Crashing Pulse

AoE circles appear under players followed by a stack marker.

Response

• spread to drop the circles safely
• quickly regroup on the stack marker target
• use mitigation if the group is low.

Tsunami

Raidwide damage followed by a sequence of debuff mechanics.

Players may receive knockback markers, donut AoEs, or spread mechanics.

Response

• spread if marked with AoEs
• unmarked players can move inside donut safe zones
• watch knockback direction carefully to avoid falling.

Maelstrom

Leviathan dives beneath the platform while water puddles expand across the arena. Simultaneously, divebomb portals appear at the edges of the arena.

Response

• avoid standing in expanding puddles
• watch portal locations to anticipate divebomb paths
• reposition between puddles as they grow.

Encounter Flow

The encounter opens with raidwide damage followed by the first Rip Current tankbuster and the introduction of Temporary Current, forcing the raid to learn Leviathan’s diagonal arena blasts.

Leviathan then begins layering movement mechanics through Drenching Pulse, Tidal Wave knockbacks, and Undersea Quake, which temporarily destroys sections of the platform.

Midway through the encounter, Tsunami introduces overlapping debuff mechanics that require careful positioning to resolve knockbacks, donut AoEs, and spreads simultaneously.

Later in the fight Leviathan uses Maelstrom, temporarily leaving the arena while divebomb attacks and expanding water puddles pressure the raid’s movement.

From this point forward Leviathan repeats earlier mechanics until the encounter is completed.
