Encounter Overview

Eden Prime is the first Savage encounter of the Eden raid series in Shadowbringers.

This fight expands on the mechanics introduced in the normal version by introducing altered versions of core abilities and significantly increasing coordination requirements. Players must handle puddle placements, beam baiting, tankbuster positioning, and large arena-wide attack sequences while responding to arena transformations.

The encounter also introduces Paradise Regained, which modifies previously seen mechanics and requires players to adjust positioning and stacking strategies.

Key mechanics include:

• Vice and Virtue mechanic variations
• arena-wide donut attacks
• line tankbusters and shared damage mechanics
• Dimensional Shift arena transformations
• beam baiting from floating orbs
• meteor interception mechanics
• add phase DPS check

Correct positioning and coordination are required throughout the fight as mechanics quickly chain together in later phases.

Arena Overview

The encounter takes place on a square platform surrounded by a lethal boundary.

Touching the outer edge of the arena results in instant death.

During the fight, Dimensional Shift temporarily transforms the arena environment and introduces floating orb mechanics that fire targeted line attacks.

Players must remain aware of their positioning relative to both the arena edges and other party members while resolving beam baiting mechanics.

Mechanic Archive

Eden’s Gravity

Heavy raidwide damage that deals percentage-based damage to the party.

Response

• mitigate and heal
• tanks should be monitored for incoming auto attacks

Vice and Virtue – Puddles

Four DPS receive circular markers.

After a delay, each marker explodes and leaves behind a persistent damage puddle.

Response

• marked players spread out
• place puddles near the arena edge
• avoid overlapping damage

Eden’s Flare

Large donut AoE centered on Eden.

Response

• move into Eden’s hitbox

Vice and Virtue – Tankbusters

Both tanks are marked for line AoE attacks.

Eden fires beams toward each tank.

Response

• tanks stand apart
• aim beams away from the party
• use mitigation

Spear of Paradise

Double-hitting tankbuster on the main target.

Each hit applies vulnerability.

Response

• tank swap between hits
• or use immunity cooldowns

Vice and Virtue – Prey

Both healers receive a heavy damage marker that also applies a damage-over-time effect.

These markers can be transferred to another player.

Response

• healers pass the markers to tanks
• tanks mitigate the incoming damage

Pure Light

Eden teleports to a corner and casts a lethal attack toward the arena.

Anyone not standing behind Eden is hit with fatal damage.

Response

• move behind Eden immediately

Delta Attack

Large multi-layered AoE sequence:

• central point-blank AoE
• cross-shaped line AoEs across the arena
• player-targeted AoEs

Response

• split into pairs
• move to diagonal corners
• avoid overlapping markers

Dimensional Shift

Raidwide damage followed by arena transformation.

Floating orbs appear around the arena.

Response

• prepare for upcoming orb mechanics

Paradise Lost

Orbs repeatedly target the four farthest players with circular AoEs.

Response

• designated players move far away to bait attacks
• maintain safe zones for the rest of the party

Pure Beam

Each orb targets its nearest player and fires a line beam.

Beams apply Magic Vulnerability.

Response

• assign players to specific orbs
• aim beams out of the arena

Phase 2 Mechanics

Fragor Maximus

Major raidwide damage that transitions the arena to space.

Two adds spawn shortly afterward.

Guardians of Paradise

Two adds spawn with proximity markers.

Response

• tanks pick up adds
• face them away from the party
• interrupt Mana Boost

If Mana Boost completes, the add gains extremely dangerous damage buffs.

Adds will eventually cast Mana Burst, a large raidwide attack.

Response

• defeat one add first to prevent overlapping damage
• complete the DPS check before Unto Dust enrage

Paradise Regained

Eden gains the ability to alter previously used mechanics.

Players must identify which mechanics are altered and adjust accordingly.

Altered: Vice and Virtue – Tankbuster

Tank beams now require group soaking.

Response

• split into two groups
• stack with each tank

Altered: Vice and Virtue – Puddles

Four DPS receive markers that must now be paired with another player.

Response

• pair up and share the damage

Altered: Delta Attack

Inverse version of the original mechanic.

Response

• stack near Eden to avoid donut AoE
• tanks aim beams outward
• group handles stack marker

Altered: Vice and Virtue – Prey

Healers again receive markers but now apply several dangerous debuffs.

Response

• pass markers to DPS instead of tanks

Meteor and Orb Sequence

During later Dimensional Shift phases:

• meteors fall toward the arena
• white orbs fire rotating beam attacks

Response

• destroy meteors before impact
• bait orb beams outward

Encounter Flow

The encounter begins with Eden’s Gravity followed by the Vice and Virtue mechanics, introducing puddle placement and tank beam positioning.

Players then resolve Pure Light and Delta Attack, which require careful positioning to avoid overlapping AoEs.

Midway through the encounter, Dimensional Shift introduces orb beam mechanics and targeted AoE baiting.

The fight transitions into Phase 2 with Fragor Maximus, sending the party into space and spawning the Guardians of Paradise add phase.

After defeating the adds, Eden gains Paradise Regained, altering previous mechanics and forcing the party to adapt to new versions of tankbusters, puddles, and Delta Attack.

The encounter escalates as Eden chains multiple mechanics together in rapid succession, including beam baiting, meteor interception, and arena transformations.

If the party cannot defeat Eden before the final Fragor Maximus cast, the raid wipes.
