Encounter Overview
Erichthonios (Savage) is the Savage version of the first encounter in the Pandæmonium: Asphodelos raid tier. The fight builds on the mechanics seen in Normal mode while introducing stricter positioning requirements and additional mechanic combinations.
The encounter emphasizes precise positioning, debuff management, and quick recognition of flail mechanics. Players must also handle complex debuff spreads and elemental puzzles while responding to rapid mechanic sequencing.
The fight is divided into three major phases.
Arena Layout
The encounter takes place within a square arena inside Pandæmonium.
Arena characteristics:
• open arena with no obstacles
• lethal arena edge
• temporary wedge mechanics during later phases
• arena transformation during Intemperance
Players typically assign fixed positions for debuff resolution:
• Tanks / Melee → cardinal positions near the boss
• Healers / Ranged → intercardinal positions toward the arena corners
These positions are used during several mechanics.
Boss Behavior Profile
Erichthonios uses layered mechanics that combine:
• raidwide damage
• directional flail attacks
• debuff positioning mechanics
• elemental puzzle mechanics
• wedge-based arena hazards
Players must maintain awareness of boss animations while managing precise positioning assignments.
Mechanic Archive
Phase 1
Heavy Hand
Single target tankbuster.
Player Response
• Tank mitigation required.
Warder’s Wrath
Room-wide physical raidwide damage.
Player Response
• Mitigate and heal through.
Aetherial Shackles
Two random players receive one of two debuffs:
Shackles of Loneliness (Red)
Targets the three farthest players, creating large AoEs.
Purple Shackles
Targets the three closest players, creating smaller AoEs.
If a player is hit by both debuffed players they take massive damage.
Standard Resolution
Red debuff:
• Stand in a far corner
Purple debuff:
• Stand near the boss at a cardinal position
Other players:
• Fill remaining cardinal / corner positions.
Gaoler’s Flails
Erichthonios throws two flails which resolve in sequence.
Possible combinations:
Spike Ball
• Point-blank AoE around the boss.
Chakram
• Donut AoE outside the boss hitbox.
Hook
• Wide attack leaving a 90° safe zone behind the boss.
Players must observe the order and position accordingly.
Pitiless Flails of Grace / Purgation
Tankbuster attack that knocks back the targeted tank.
The tank receives a magic vulnerability debuff.
Tank Swap
Tanks must swap after the knockback to avoid lethal follow-up damage.
Flails of Purgation
Creates a proximity explosion from the tank location.
Players must move away from the tank.
Flails of Grace
Creates a shared damage attack on the tank.
Players must stack to share damage.
Phase 2 – Intemperance
Intemperance
Transforms the arena into a 3×3 grid.
Crystals appear above the outer squares:
• Fire
• Ice
• Poison
Intemperate Torment
Crystals are destroyed sequentially.
Players receive either:
• Overwhelmed by Fire
• Overwhelmed by Cold
Being hit by the same element causes heavy damage.
Players must alternate elements.
Additional rules:
• purple cross between squares is lethal
• poison crystals deal heavy damage
Players must occupy specific squares to prevent raid damage.
Crystal Order
First and third crystal:
• Fire or Ice
Second crystal:
• Poison (East / West)
• Fire (North)
• Ice (South)
Players move between squares to resolve element swaps.
Warder’s Wrath
Raidwide damage occurs during the Intemperance sequence.
Phase 2 – Shining Cells
Shining Cells
Raidwide damage that transforms the arena into alternating colored wedges.
Aetherflail
Erichthonios combines flail attacks with wedge explosions.
Two flails occur in sequence:
• Hook flail
• Spike ball or chakram
Colored orbs determine which wedges will explode.
Players must identify a single safe wedge for both attacks.
Shackles of Time
One player receives a debuff.
After a tankbuster resolves:
• wedges matching the debuffed player’s color explode.
Players must adjust positioning accordingly.
Slam Shut
Ends the Shining Cells phase with raidwide damage.
Fourfold Shackles
All players receive red or purple debuffs with timers:
• 3 seconds
• 8 seconds
• 13 seconds
• 18 seconds
Debuffs resolve sequentially.
Players must move into preassigned positions for each timer window.
Red targets the farthest players while purple targets the closest players.
Phase 3
Intemperate Torment (Second Cast)
Similar to the first version but includes Gaoler’s Flails.
Flail attacks begin after the second crystal.
Players must return to their original squares while dodging flails.
Shining Cells (Second Cast)
Mechanics combine with:
• Pitiless Flails
• Aetherial Shackles
Players must resolve wedge positioning while handling stack / spread mechanics.
Enrage
After roughly 10 minutes, Erichthonios casts Lethe, wiping the raid.

Role Pressure Analysis
Tanks
Tanks must coordinate swaps during flail mechanics and handle tankbusters safely.
Healers
Healers must recover the raid from frequent raidwide damage while supporting positioning mechanics.
DPS
DPS must maintain uptime while resolving precise positioning mechanics.
Failure Points
Common wipes occur due to:
• incorrect Aetherial Shackles positioning
• improper flail positioning
• incorrect elemental swaps during Intemperance
• wedge misidentification during Aetherflail
• failure during Fourfold Shackles.
