Encounter Overview

Emanation is the level 67 trial featuring Lakshmi, introduced in Stormblood. This encounter introduces the unique Vril duty action, which is required to survive her most dangerous abilities.

The fight is mechanically straightforward but visually chaotic, combining stack markers, directional AoEs, expanding ground effects, and periodic raidwide abilities that must be mitigated using Vril. Proper orb management and awareness of her hand-based mechanics are the keys to a clean clear.

Arena Overview

The encounter takes place on a circular platform with open edges. Falling from the arena results in a temporary KO before returning to the platform, but repeated mistakes can quickly overwhelm the party.

Most mechanics resolve around the center of the arena, with players frequently needing to spread or stack depending on incoming markers.

Mechanic Archive

Dreaming Kshatriya

Adds present at the start of the encounter. Lakshmi will periodically use AoE abilities that can heal them, so they should be focused down one at a time rather than split between targets.

Vril

A duty action granted through glowing orbs that appear around the arena. Each player can hold one charge at a time. Activating Vril grants a temporary defensive buff that greatly reduces damage and prevents lethal knockback effects.

Divine Denial

A platform-wide attack with no safe zone that will heavily damage and knock back all players. This must be mitigated using Vril, or players risk being knocked off the arena or killed outright.

Stotram

A raidwide AoE that deals moderate damage to the entire party. This is used frequently throughout the encounter.

Hand of Grace (Left/Right)

Lakshmi will indicate either Target Left or Target Right, determining which follow-up mechanic will occur.

Hand of Beauty

Creates expanding circular AoEs (blue pools). If players are hit, these pools grow larger, reducing safe space on the platform. Players should avoid these entirely.

Hand of Bliss

Cross-shaped AoEs originate from multiple players. These must be spread properly to avoid overlapping damage zones.

Alluring Arm

A stack marker placed on a player. The party must group together to share damage.

Vril Orb Management

New Vril orbs appear periodically. Players should only pick one up if they do not already have a charge, as collecting an orb while already holding one wastes it and can prevent others from surviving upcoming mechanics.

Encounter Flow

Opening – Add Phase

The fight begins with Lakshmi shielded while two Dreaming Kshatriya are active. The party should defeat them one at a time, as Lakshmi’s AoEs can heal them if both remain alive too long.

Main Phase

Once the adds are defeated, Lakshmi becomes targetable and begins cycling through her core mechanics. The party must manage Hand of Beauty and Hand of Bliss patterns by spreading appropriately, while regrouping for Alluring Arm.

Shortly after the fight begins, Lakshmi will move to the center and prepare a platform-wide attack. Players must activate Vril to survive the damage and knockback.

Mid-Fight Loop

The encounter continues with repeating cycles of raidwide damage, spread mechanics, and stack markers. Players should continue collecting Vril orbs as needed, ensuring they always have a charge ready for the next major AoE.

As long as players avoid unnecessary damage from expanding pools and properly handle stack and spread mechanics, the fight remains controlled and consistent until Lakshmi is defeated.
