Zodiac Weapons are the original relic weapon series introduced during the A Realm Reborn era of Final Fantasy XIV. Stage 1 — Relic Weapons

Players begin the relic questline by completing the quest:

A Relic Reborn

This quest chain requires gathering special materials, crafting components, and defeating several bosses before forging the initial relic weapon.

The quest involves several objectives including:

• crafting or purchasing a specific weapon

• completing certain dungeons

• defeating a primal trial

Once these objectives are completed, the player receives their base relic weapon.

Stage 2 — Zenith Weapons

The Zenith stage upgrades the relic weapon using Thavnairian Mist.

Thavnairian Mist can be purchased for Allagan Tomestones of Poetics from vendors in Revenant’s Toll.

Applying these materials upgrades the relic weapon to the Zenith tier.

Stage 3 — Atma Weapons

The Atma stage introduces a heavy FATE farming grind across multiple regions of Eorzea.

Players must obtain twelve different Atma items.

12 Atma stones

Each Atma drops randomly from FATEs in specific zones.

• Eastern Thanalan

• Upper La Noscea

Stage 4 — Animus Weapons

To upgrade the relic weapon to Animus, players must complete a series of Zodiac Books.

Each book requires completing several objectives such as:

• defeating specific enemies

• completing particular FATE events

• finishing designated dungeons

• clearing levequests

Players must complete multiple books to fully upgrade the weapon to the Animus stage.

Stage 5 — Novus Weapons

The Novus stage introduces a materia customization system.

Players enhance their relic weapon by infusing it with materia using a special relic enhancement process.

Alexandrite can be obtained through:

• treasure maps

• daily quests

• special relic activities

Players can customize the weapon’s attributes by selecting specific materia bonuses.

Stage 6 — Nexus Weapons

The Nexus stage requires players to accumulate Aetheric Light.

Light is obtained by completing combat content with the relic weapon equipped.

As players complete content, their relic gradually fills its light meter until the Nexus upgrade becomes available.

Stage 7 — Zodiac Weapons

Final Stage — Zodiac Zeta Weapons

The final stage upgrades the relic weapon into the Zodiac Zeta Weapon, the completed A Realm Reborn relic.

The Zodiac weapon chain involves many different activities, so efficiency comes from combining multiple objectives at once.

Recommended strategy:

1. Complete dungeon objectives while farming Aetheric Light

2. Combine FATE grinding with book objectives

3. Use daily quests to obtain Alexandrite materials

4. Purchase required materials using tomestones whenever possible

Because the Zodiac relic system contains several RNG-heavy stages, patience and consistent farming are key to completing the weapon.
