Encounter Overview
The Pool of Tribute (Extreme) is the level 70 trial featuring Susano in his enhanced Extreme form. This encounter builds upon the normal version by adding stricter execution checks, lethal positioning mechanics, and higher coordination requirements.
The fight is divided into three phases, with Phase 3 serving as the primary challenge through repeated mechanic combinations and fast-paced reactions.
Arena Overview
The arena is a circular platform that becomes split into two halves during Phase 3. A dividing line (cleft) runs through the center, and standing within it applies a lethal debuff.
Players must frequently move between sides of the arena to resolve mechanics correctly while maintaining awareness of positioning and incoming damage.
Mechanic Archive
Rasen Kaikyo
Circular AoEs placed on multiple players. Affected players must spread to avoid overlapping damage.
Churning
A debuff applied to players that punishes any action taken as it expires. Players must stop all actions—including movement and auto-attacks—when the countdown completes.
Yata no Kagami
A marked player is knocked upward, creating a narrow safe line across the arena. Players must align with this safe zone to avoid a full arena attack.
Brightstorm
A stack marker that follows Yata no Kagami. The party must group to share damage.
Dark Cloud
Spawns clouds that fire wide line AoEs across the arena. Players must position carefully to avoid paralysis and damage.
Ame-no-Murakumo
A major mechanic where one tank blocks Susano’s blade while the party destroys it. The second tank must intercept orbs that spawn around the arena.
Blade’s Shadow (Active Time Event)
The blocking tank must complete an active time sequence while taking continuous damage. Tanks must swap roles after each blade phase due to debuffs.
Orb Soaking
Orbs spawn sequentially and must be intercepted by the off-tank. If they reach the party, they will cause lethal explosions.
Stormsplitter
A heavy tankbuster that applies a debuff, requiring a tank swap immediately after resolution.
Levinbolt
Targets a player and deals damage to their side of the arena. There are two variations:
- Player moves: The marked player crosses the arena to isolate damage.
- Party moves: The marked player is stunned, and the rest of the party must reposition.
Ama-no-iwato
Traps a player inside a stone. The party must identify and destroy the correct stone before the cast completes.
Ukehi
A multi-hit raidwide AoE that requires healing and mitigation.
Encounter Flow
Phase 1
Susano introduces core mechanics including Rasen Kaikyo, Churning, and Yata no Kagami. Players must balance movement, stacking, and stopping actions during Churning to avoid lethal damage.
Proper positioning during Yata no Kagami is critical to maintaining safe zones for the party.
Phase 2 – Blade Phase
Susano summons Ame-no-Murakumo. One tank must block the blade while the party destroys it, and the other tank handles orb interception.
The party must stack centrally to avoid orb explosions while maintaining healing on the blocking tank. Tanks must swap roles after each blade due to stacking debuffs.
Failure to destroy the blade in time or losing control of orbs results in a wipe.
Phase 3
The arena splits into two halves, introducing the central cleft hazard. Susano begins combining mechanics from earlier phases with new ones such as Stormsplitter and Levinbolt.
Players must quickly determine whether the marked player or the party needs to move during Levinbolt, often repeating this mechanic multiple times in succession.
Additional mechanics like Ama-no-iwato and Ukehi overlap with existing patterns, increasing pressure and requiring clean execution.
The fight continues with escalating combinations until Susano is defeated or enrage occurs.
